Up Learn 2024 Impact Report
More students, more schools, more A*s, more As. After a year of progress, Up Learn’s 2024 Impact Report reveals how students self-reported an A*/A in 50% of their exams, through focused, consistent learning. The results have come from many sources – surveys and interviews across the year with over 8,000 students, parents and teachers have given us our most comprehensive and positive results to date.
With over 685 schools using Up Learn this year and more than 2 million hours being logged on the platform by students, we are incredibly proud of the results. The full report is available to download here, but some of the key results from our surveys are as follows:
- 50% of students using Up Learn reported achieving an A* or A grade, compared to a national average of 27.6%.
- Up Learn was consistently the preferred choice for quality, engaging content and exam resources by students, parents, and teachers against tutoring and other ed tech providers
- For consistent Up Learn users (40 hours+):
- 82% believed it had helped their academic performance
- 78% believe it had boosted their confidence
- 77% agreed it had helped with their motivation
What can schools, students, and parents learn from this report?
1. Great Results Take Focus & Consistency
The A level results show that 2 hours per subject per week consistently delivers optimum results. 61% of students maintained or outperformed their expected grades as a result of this approach. To improve the ability of schools to track this consistency, Up Learn has implemented new reporting and dashboard functionality, enabling an at-a-glance understanding of how consistently students are using Up Learn and their results.
Simply go in, set the assignments, and set the deadline.
2. Minimum Hours
The difference between school usage and students who are on the consumer plan involved minimum hours. Outperformance of national average grades starts at 40 hours – and the students who achieved A/A* with Up Learn were on the platform for at least 70 hours across 2 years. This is something that both schools and parents should be aware of. The first step is working with Up Learn, the next is consistent, focussed effort.
3. Buy-in from Teachers & Students
Ensuring teachers and students are enthusiastic about Up Learn is the first major step toward success. These comments are a strong indicator of the benefits of engagement. The testimonials and case studies that can be found here add context and demonstrate the outcomes that come with a strong implementation model.
We want to thank every school, student, and parent who has been part of Up Learn’s journey. We’re looking forward to another exciting and successful year for our students.
