Kris is a twice-published author on effective pedagogy and recognised leader/innovator in the field of education. Prior to joining Up Learn, he was a Director at Teach First, responsible for developing 1,000+ teachers and 200+ teacher trainers, and an Advisor at the Institute for Teaching. Kris started his career in strategy consulting but his belief that all students were capable of A* grades saw him become Deputy Head of Mathematics at King Solomon Academy, who soared to the top of national league tables as the highest performing non-selective school in the UK. Kris has successfully learnt French, Spanish, Italian, German and Mandarin Chinese using methods applied at Up Learn – watch this space for languages courses!
